If we want children to flourish, to become truly empowered, let us allow them to love the earth before we ask them to save it. David Sobel

The Bush and Beach Kindy

Proudly the first centre on the Sunshine Coast to be awarded an Excellence rating. We have now received the Excellence rating twice. (16,500 centres across Australia are rated and less than 20 centres have received the prestigious Excellence Rating twice.)

The Excellence rating is the highest rating an education and care service can achieve.  It reflects the passionate educators and high standard of care and education at the centre.

We have families who travel long distances to attend our long day care centre. They know that the early years of their child’s life is critical to brain development and a child’s positive sense of themselves, and they want to ensure they have chosen a centre where the educators are warm and friendly and truly understand early year’s curriculum that is of the highest quality.

Our centre opens from 7am to 6pm daily and provides a warm, caring and educational space for children between 15 months and 6 years of age.

Our centre offers families and their children:

- Exceptional care and early childhood education

- Qualified and experienced educators who have remained at the centre for many years

- A family friendly environment, where siblings can play together

- Large outdoor space, which is a garden for children to play in

- Over the legal ratio of educators to children, to ensure high quality interactions

- QLD Government Approved Kindergarten Program with 2 university trained teachers

- A full day Nature Camp experience for children in their Kindergarten Year

- Bachelor Qualified Teachers

- Family owned and operated

Our centre has an innovative creative arts program. We employ an artist in residence, for 30 hours a week, who spends time with the children regularly, supporting them to learn techniques and to realise their own potential as artists.

We are strong advocates of developing children’s imagination, creativity and associated skills across all ages and in many ways. We realise, that through creative expression, children are inspired to think, to express themselves, to feel valued, to feel calm, to innovate, to share and collaborate, to appreciate and to come to know themselves.

We also spend time with our artist on the foreshore of Pumistone Passage, we have a builder’s workshop and have an annual art exhibition to honour the children’s and educator’s work. We employ a ceramic artist weekly, in our Mud Club, to support children to learn the creative value of clay.
